Hard Cider & Wine FAQ

What’s the difference?

Our hard ciders and wines begin as the same product - the only difference is how they are treated after they are done fermenting.

After the fermentation process has finished, our hard ciders are filtered briefly to remove any sediment. This maintains a bolder, stronger flavor.

Our wines continue on to go through a more intense filtration process. This makes them shelf stable, and subtly mellows the flavor.

Our hard ciders are more oaky in flavor and have more of a bite, while our wines are smoother and sweeter.

How long does the process take?

From juice to hard cider, the process typically takes about a year.

Do they need to be refrigerated?

Our hard ciders need to be kept in a cool place - the fridge is best.

Our wines are shelf stable and do not need to be refrigerated prior to opening. They do need to be refrigerated after opening.

How long do they last?

Our hard ciders typically stay fresh for 6 to 9 months, depending on storage conditions. To maximize shelf life if drinking the cider slowly over a longer period of time, we recommend transferring it to a smaller container, such as a jelly jar or pickle jar. This reduces the amount of air (headspace) inside the container, which helps prevent the cider from turning into vinegar.

Our wines remain good for about one year if unopened. Once opened, they should be refrigerated and consumed within one week.

Do you do growler refills? How does it work?

We do! We can refill our growlers with any flavor of hard cider - we can not fill growlers with wine. Please keep in mind that we do refills, not exchanges - please make sure to wash your growler prior to bringing it in, as we are unable to thoroughly wash your growlers for you.

We are unable to fill any growlers that do not have a stamped/imprinted 64oz measurement. We can not fill growlers that are not glass.

Tasting FAQ

Can I try both the wines and hard ciders?

Yes! We do wine and hard cider tastings 7 days a week.

The tastings are at separate locations - our hard cider tasting is in our cellar below the press, and wine tasting is in our tasting room/gift shop.

What are the hours for wine and hard cider tastings?

Monday - Saturday: 9 am - 6 pm

Sunday: 10 am - 6 pm

Do I need a reservation?

No, you do not! Our tastings are all first-come, first-served.

How does it work?

Our wine tasting happens at the window on the outside of our tasting room - you can try up to four .25 oz samples of any wines you choose!

Our hard cider tasting is in the same place as hard cider sales, beneath our press building. We have two lines - one for sales only, and one for tastings and sales. This plays out the same as the wine tasting - four .25 oz samples of your choice!

What should I try?

Our tasting attendants are there to help you! The display bottles are typically arranged from driest to sweetest to help narrow it down, and we have most of our flavors on our website so you can check them out beforehand.

We all have different favorites, so we all have different recommendations!

Do I have to make a purchase for a tasting?

Our tastings are 100% free! No purchase required.

Can I pay for more samples?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide more than the four free samples per tasting.

Do I really have to show my ID?!

We accept all state accepted forms of ID, including state IDs, military IDs, passports, and driver’s licenses.

We can not accept paper IDs, even from the DMV, unless they are presented with the expired physical ID card.
